Guide To Choosing An Assisted Living Community

In all 50 States assisted living communities are licensed by their respective States.  This guarantees a basic level of care and protects the consumer – you and your parent. However, there is still a lot of difference between communities, and when you are choosing one, you probably want to pick the best one, the first time.

Since most folk don’t have a lot of experience with Senior Care and Assisted Living it can be tricky. There are several ways to narrow the field, like using referral agencies. But making the final choice is up to you.

Fortunately, the very organization  that represents Assisted Living and Board & Care homes, has created a downloadable guide for choosing a home. The organization is Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) and the FREE downloadable guide is located HERE!

One word of caution – ALFA mostly represent large communties…chosing a small home-like board and care is a little different. For a small B & C you will have to do the footwork.
